channel for the improvement of student
activities and dissemination of knowledge in
2021. Though Covid pandemic has had many
disruptive effects, we have continued our
academic and extracurricular activities
including many guest lectures, carrier guidance
and students’ creative activities online for the
benefit of our students.
Faculty was able to successfully conduct the
faculty research symposium (RuFARS) for the
fourth consecutive time amidst Covid outbreak
in 2021. Over the last few years, undergraduate
research work has immensely contributed to
strengthen the research culture and the
majority of the publications in the proceedings
of fourth research symposium has showcased
the research potential and the talents of the
graduating students. All the members of the
Faculty are committed to develop the Faculty
to a fully-fledged health science educational
institute within a few years with the steady and
strong leadership of Senior Professor Sujeewa
Amarasena as the Vice Chancellor of the
University.
Finally, it is with great pleasure I thank the
editorial board for their commitment in editing
this newsletter and hope that this newsletter
reflects all activities undertaken by entire
membership in the Faculty. Further, I take this
opportunity to appreciate and congratulate all
the staff members and beloved students for
their fruitful teamwork. We anticipate issuing
semi-annual newsletter with a summary of our
news giving you a greater awareness into
various activities carried out by our staff
members and the students.
I wish all the success to RuAHS newsletter.
