Special awards and prizes

  • Dr. Murugesar Sinnetamby Oration – 2019 for the manuscript; “Survival analysis of breast cancer in Sri Lanka; a dire necessity revisited” was awarded by the Sri Lanka Medical Association in 2019.
  • NRC Merit Award 2018 for the full paper publication: "KIBRA; a novel biomarker predicting recurrence free survival of breast cancer patients receiving adjuvant therapy".
  • Third place for the best poster presentation was received at the Annual Academic Sessions of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ruhuna, Galle in 2019.
  • Best oral presentation awards were received at three times; Annual Academic sessions of the Galle Medical Association in 2014, Annual Scientific Sessions of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayawardhanepura in 2015 and 2016.
  • UGC Research grant to Probationary Academic Grades to obtain Doctoral Qualifications Locally – 2011 was obtained in 2011. Amount was SL Rs. 750, 000.00.
  • ESMO travel grant to ESMO Asia – 2015 conference in Singapore. Presented a poster.
