Biography

I am a Senior Lecturer in Nursing and a registered nurse who is currently working at University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka. After my undergraduate education in BSs Nursing Hons by receiving a 2nd class upper division at the final examination and by becoming the rank 1 student in the 1st batch of BSc Nursing at University of Sri Jayewardenepura, I started my carrier as a Temporary Demonstrator in the same University at the BSc Nursing Degree Programme. During that period, I gained my clinical experience practicing as a nurse at Asiri Surgical Hospital on the locum basis. After receiving one year experience from the University, I moved to Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital, Sri Lanka as a Nursing Officer to practice as a clinical nurse. Afterwards, I started my academic carrier as a lecturer in Nursing at University of Ruhuna. Later, I obtained my PhD in Nursing from University of Ruhuna in the year of 2019.
My primary academic interest currently is in the areas of Women’s health, Menopause, Sarcopenia, Frailty, Geriatrics, Health promotion and Nursing education. On life, outside as an academic, I am interested in music and sports and involve in different events of such activities with students and staff at faculty and university level.
