Message from the Chairperson

The International Research Symposium of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (iRuFARS), University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka, is a flagship annual academic event that brings together researchers, academics, healthcare professionals, and policymakers from around the world topromote knowledge exchange, research excellence, and interdisciplinary collaboration in health and allied health sciences. The 4 th successive episode of the symposium will be held on 21 st of August 2026, providing a dynamic platform for global scholarly engagement and evidence informed dialogue.

The theme, “Advancing Health Equity through Research and Innovation,” highlights the global importance of addressing health disparities and promoting inclusive, equitable access to quality healthcare, particularly for vulnerable and marginalized populations.

Aligned with this theme, iRuFARS 2026 will feature a Pre-conference Workshop focused on empowering women and older adults and strengthening the capacity of healthcare professionals through enhanced knowledge and skills, thereby bridging research and practice.

We warmly invite researchers worldwide to submit original research findings related to health and health-related fields. Academics, researchers, healthcare professionals, undergraduates, and the general public are encouraged to participate in both the symposium and the pre-conference workshop.

We look forward to welcoming you to iRuFARS 2026 at the University of Ruhuna and disseminating your valuable contributions toward advancing equitable and people-centered health systems.

Together, let us advance health equity through research and innovation.
