A ll Pharmacy undergraduates are supposed to carry out an individual research project (08 credits) during the final year, under the supervision of the academic staff members of the faculty. Out of 8 credits, 2 credits have been allocated for the preparation of research proposal (PHRPI) in the first semester in the final year. Remains have been allocated in the second semester of the final year as PHRPII and it is evaluated by the submission of the dissertations and oral presentations at the end of the second semester of the final year. The academic staff of the Department of Pharmacy is currently conducting research in the fields of Pharmacy practice as well as Pharmaceutical Sciences in collaboration with academic staff members of the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Science of University of Ruhuna and annually a considerable numbers of valuable research abstracts and publications are performed.
