The Ethics Review Committee of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, University of Ruhuna (FAHS/UoR), was established in 2018 to provide independent guidance, advice, and decisions on health-related research/projects involving humans and/or animals.
The objectives of the Ethics Review Committee of the FAHS/UoR is to maintain ethical standards of practice in research, including the protection of potential human participants, animals, and other living organisms while taking into account the interests and needs of researchers and the integrity of FAHS/UoR. The ERC FAHS/UoR will also take on the role of capacity building in research ethics and ethics review among its faculty, students and the scientific community. The ERC, FAHS/UoR is a member of the Forum for Ethics Review Committees in Sri Lanka (FERCSL).
The ERC of the FAHS/UoR meets every First Wednesday of the month. The ERC office is located at the Department of MLS, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, University of Ruhuna, Uluvitike. The Office is open for protocol submission and related inquiries from Monday to Friday – 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 pm.

Submission and Processing Fee
The approved fee structure with effect from 1st of January 2022.

| II | Projects (as a fulfilment of a BSc degree programme) in which the Principal Investigator is an undergraduate of the University of Ruhuna | Free of charge |
Receipt of payment should be submitted with the application. Payments should be made in favour of Ethics Review Committee /FAHS to the Shroff Counter, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ruhuna
